Pre-announcement MTB Cycling Eleven Cities Tour 2025: August 23 and 24, 2025!

When you think of Bolsward, you think of cycling. For more than 100 years, the Eleven Cities Cycling Tour has been organized from this city - in the heart of the eleven cities - on Whit Monday. But in Bolsward there are also other cycling events on the program every year, such as the cycling rounds on Pentecost Saturday and during the Heamiel Days.

In 2021 and 2023, the MTB 11 city tour from Bolsward was organized under beautiful weather conditions. And that leaves you wanting more. We will repeat the event on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August 2025. All eleven cities are visited in two days, mostly on unpaved paths in the Frisian landscape. 

This variation on the famous Elfstedentocht is a great challenge. We are already receiving many questions about when registration will take place. Well, now's the time. The Frisian Eleven Cities Cycling Tour Foundation has decided to reorganize the MTB 11 cities due to overwhelming interest.
It will be a two-day event with the start and finish in Bolsward every day, from the Marne College, Schoolstraat 1 in Bolsward. 

The route is on unpaved roads as much as possible. Old church paths, sea dikes, forests and farmlands will be crossed. 

The option to register will follow at a later time, information will follow via www.fietselfstedentocht.frl. The number of participants is limited because we use private property and cycle through a number of nature reserves.

Due to safety considerations, registration is only possible in couples of two or three people. Unfortunately, individual registration is not possible.
